Financial Accounting INTENSIVE - Introductory (BFA102)
The purpose of this course is to help students develop an understanding of fundamental accounting concepts, methods, and principles. This course aims to give students detailed knowledge on the preparation of financial statements. In the field of accounting, there is no law that governs practice; instead General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) govern rules for a country's accounting system. Over time, GAAP converge to form what is known as International GAAP, i.e. International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). In this course, we will focus on GAAP, along with the procedures used in generating the three principal financial statements: the Balance Sheet, now known as Statement of Comprehensive Position, the Income Statement, and the Statement of Cash Flows.
This course has been specially designed to allow coverage of a comprehensive range of topics and ample time for in-depth discussion of case studies and for practical exercises.
