Business English Simulation (BES101-S)
This course is designed to help business people develop and strengthen their English communication skills, their problem-solving skills, and their confidence. The course will give participants realistic hands-on practice in the type of language and communication strategies required to successfully meet business-related needs. This hands-on practice will simulate situations or problems that participants might face in their professional or personal lives. The course will focus on developing and strengthening students' ability to collaboratively gather and analyze information; make decisions; and present or defend ideas, opinions or decisions. Participants will also receive some valuable tips regarding cultural issues that arise in cross-cultural settings.
Eric J. Ritter
Eric Ritter has a Master's degree from Columbia University in New York in International Affairs and a Bachelors degree in Economics from SUNY-Oswego. He spent over 20 years in business as a financial analyst and lived in Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong before moving to Tokyo in 2013. He specializes in teaching business English in particular effective speaking and writing skills. He has written articles on business for various publications including the Nikkei Asian Review and the Japan Times. In his spare time, he likes to play tennis and listen to jazz.
