Our mission is to provide comprehensive career development services to empower each student to confidently launch their individual careers after university. We hope to begin working with you from your freshman year.

Individual Career Counseling

Among the various support services the Career Development Office provides, individual counseling is critical for all the students from freshman to senior. Although important information is provided at seminars and workshops, there is not a single approach to job-hunting that suits everyone. Your career advisor will support you in creating and executing your own job-hunting strategy.

In individual career counseling, we provide support services to help you:

Start thinking about your job search
Analyze your past experience and achievements
Brainstorm about what you really want to do
Compare employers/industries
Define your list of target employers
Gain an in-depth understanding of your top choices
Look at other possible industries
Schedule your career search
Resolve any issues regarding your job search

Seminars and Workshops

The TUJ Career Development Office holds many useful seminars and workshops that help you get through the unique Japanese system of "shukatsu" (job-hunting). There are certain steps you are required to follow, special preparations you need to do, and information you must know before you contact target employers. We also have seminars that are not specific to Japan and can help you regardless of where you plan to work after graduation.

TUJ Internship Program

The internship program is one of the distinctive features of a TUJ education. Students find it useful to not only gain valuable work experience, but also to build their future career plan. In fact, many students choose to find the same kind of job as they undertake during their internship. This program offers:

Credit Internships
Non-Credit Internships

Career Fairs and Employer Information Sessions

Each year, TUJ organizes a career fair to provide our students and recent graduates the chance to meet employers and develop contacts for networking and future opportunities. For the last few years, we have invited 12-15 companies and approximately 200 students and recent graduates have attended each year.
