Institutional TOEFL (ITP) in Tokyo

Temple University, Japan Campus, periodically conducts the institutional TOEFL (ITP) exams. Degree-seeking prospective students are eligible to take the ITP. These scores are valid in an application to the Undergraduate Program. If you are applying to a graduate program, please confirm with the respective program before registering.

Registration

Please complete the following by the registration deadline. (Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:30 to 17:00)

  1. Please register by e-mail (esl@tuj.temple.edu) or by phone (03-5441-9863).
    • Please indicate your name (in English), phone number, program of choice (ie. Undergraduate, TESOL, LAW, or MBA), and the test date for which you wish to register.
  2. Receive reservation confirmation.
    • If you register by e-mail, await a confirmation e-mail.
    • If you register by phone, your reservation will be confirmed then.
    • Please do not make the payment before you receive confirmation as registration may already be closed.
  3. Wire transfer the 5,250 yen fee using the following bank account information.
  4. You may not register for the tests conducted in Tokyo and Osaka in the same month.

* Wire transfers should indicate the name of the applicant and test date (ie. JohnTemple0312), and all bank charges should be paid for by the applicant. TUJ does not accept personal checks, cash, or credit card payments.

What to Bring

  1. Receipt of the wire transfer
  2. Photo ID (Passport, driver's license, student ID, etc.)
    * Examinees will not be able to take the test without a photo ID and test fee will be forfieted.
  3. Pencils and eraser.
  4. 80 yen postage stamp if you would like to receive your results by post.

Test Results

Test results will arrive at the testing facility in 7 business days. By post, you should receive your results in approximately 10 business days.

Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy

To reschedule or cancel your registration, make your request no later than 3 days before your test date. You may only reschedule once and the rescheduling fee of 1,050 yen (tax included) will apply. There will be no refund for cancellation once you have made the payment.
