Designated Activities Visa ("Job Hunting Visa")

Many students wish to remain in Japan after graduation from TUJ in order to look for jobs. Under your "College Student" status you must leave Japan within 30 days after graduation. However, you may apply for a "Designated Activities" status change which will allow you to remain in Japan to job hunt for up to one year (6-month initial visa and one additional 6-month extension) after your date of graduation. Application for this status change can be made at the Immigration Bureau up to 90 days after your official graduation date.
