Procedures to Change to Designated Activity Visa from College Student Visa
Many students wish to remain in Japan after graduation from TUJ in order to continue looking for jobs. You may stay in Japan for up to 90 days after graduating provided your college student visa is valid. During this 90 day period, you need to apply to change your visa status to a Designated Activity Visa, which will allow you to continue hunting for jobs for up to 6 months from your graduation date. It may be renewed once for a maximum of one year. Application for this status change can be made at the Immigration Bureau.
