Changing Status of Residence
If you need to change your current visa status to that of a TUJ-sponsored student visa, please make an appointment with the Visa Coordinator (visa@tuj.temple.edu) at the Office of Student Services (OSS) to discuss your situation. If you need to change your status from that of a TUJ-sponsored student visa to a different kind of visa status, please consult with your prospective sponsor directly. Once your status is changed, please report your new status information to the Visa Coordinator (visa@tuj.temple.edu).
General Requirements
As a student on a TUJ-sponsored visa, you must:
- Promptly update with Self-Service Banner when your contact information changes (address, phone numbers, e-mail address, emergency contact information, etc.).
- Any changes in your address must also be updated on your alien registration card within 14 days at your ward office.
- Contact OSS if you lose or renew your alien registration card.
- Check your Temple e-mail regularly for visa and other important information.
- Submit photocopies of both sides of your alien registration card and National Health Insurance card to OSS anytime you renew them.
- Maintain full-time status.
- Attend mandatory orientations.
- Submit required documents and contact TUJ when you leave TUJ or Japan.
