Process for Receiving Aid at TUJ

Per federal regulation, your loans are not disbursed until you register for classes. For first semester TUJ students, you will register courses during orientation week which is typically one week prior to the beginning of the semester. Your funds may be transferred as quickly as a week after you register but it may take up to 6 weeks. Be prepared! You will need to have money for books, transportation, school and personal supplies while you are waiting for disbursement.

TUJ will post your registration and once that occurs, your lender bank will transfer the funds to Temple University Main Campus Bursar's office. You can see the disbursement record on OWLnet but this does not mean the funds are available to you just yet. Main campus will send the funds to TUJ, we will deduct whatever amount is outstanding in your account, and the Bursar's office at TUJ will notify you by e-mail to issue you a refund. If you have a local bank account in Japan, we will conduct a wire transfer into the account you specify, otherwise, we will give you a cash refund.
