Explanation of Eligibility
The term "Financial Aid" refers to financial aid provided by the United States Government. You must be a United States citizen or a permanent resident of the U.S. in order to apply for this aid.
Government aid for non-US citizens is described in "Other Types of Aid."
Students must be enrolled at least part-time (6 credits) each semester to receive the Federal Direct Loan and Federal Direct Parent Loans (PLUS) (TUJ visa-sponsored students must maintain full-time status of 12 credits or more for spring and fall semesters, or 9 credits for summer semesters). The types of aid you are eligible to receive are different depending on your enrollment status at the university. Note that you may not be eligible for all types listed based upon your FAFSA results. Please see below for the types of aid available.
Undergraduate Matriculated Students — Dependent

Undergraduate Non-Matriculated Students
- The Non-Matriculated Student Federal Family Educational Loan Program Eligibility Exception Request form is required: www.temple.edu/sfs.
- Federal Direct Loan and/or PLUS Loans - Eligible non-matriculated undergraduate students have one year (12 consecutive months) of eligibility for these loans.
