Transfer Admissions
Students who wish to transfer to TUJ must submit the required admissions application documents. Regardless of age or number of college credits completed, degree-seeking applicants must submit high school transcripts. Test scores (SAT, ACT, TOEFL or IELTS) are required unless an applicant has been approved of a waiver based on their college transcript or age. See the Admission Qualifications page for information on waivers.
Transfer of Credits
Traditionally, Temple University accepts all college-level, liberal arts courses beyond the developmental level. These courses must have been completed with a grade of C- or better and taken at an accredited institution. The number of credits that students can transfer from a four-year institution depends on their declared major. However, to earn a degree from Temple University, one must complete at least 30 semester hours of his/her last 45 semester hours as a matriculated Temple student.
Whenever possible, credit is allowed for courses completed within ten years before the date of admission. Temple University does not give transfer credit for courses in which a student has earned less than a C- grade, ungraded coursework, courses from institutions lacking accreditation (or the equivalent), ESL classes, and certain vocational coursework, and gives credit for graded distance learning coursework only from programs accredited by the appropriate U.S. regional accrediting body. If you have questions about the transferability of your credits, please consult with TUJ Admissions.
