Scholarships for Current Students

Undergraduate Scholarship for
Fall / Spring / Summer Semester

Application Deadline:
See the Academic Calendar or contact AAC

Every year Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ), offers a variety of scholarships to qualified undergraduate students. Last year, TUJ donated substantial funds to assist students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and exhibit financial need. Scholarship recipients will receive partial tuition remission for the relevant semester. TUJ awards some scholarships to those students demonstrating both merit and need. Priority will be given to applicants who are not recipients of other scholarships, stipends, or grants that cover a substantial portion of tuition and fees. No student will be given a TUJ scholarship which would result in an award or payment in excess of 100% of tuition charges or fees (not including housing). If, subsequent to an award of a TUJ scholarship but prior to payment, other scholarships, stipends, or grants are offered to a student the amount of the TUJ scholarship will be reduced accordingly.

To be eligible for an Undergraduate Scholarship, you must be currently registered as a full-time, matriculated undergraduate TUJ student and have completed at least 12 credit hours of academic work at TUJ. Students in their final semester or registered as part-time students due to financial reasons may also be considered in exceptional circumstances.

To apply for a scholarship, please submit (i) a completed Scholarship Application form, (ii) a personal statement, (iii) two letters of recommendation from faculty, and (iv) a copy of your academic history. Please see the application form for additional details.

Please submit all the application documents to the Academic Advising Center (AAC) on the 1st floor of Azabu Hall by the date given on the UG Academic Calendar. The Scholarship Committee will review applications and may interview certain candidates. Scholarship award winners will be notified via TU mail. The decisions of Scholarships Committee are final and not subject to appeal; the Committee does not discuss individual cases.
