The function of advertising in the overall economy; determining markets and using advertising in selling goods and services; relationship of advertising agencies to advertisers and media. Note, this was formerly JPRA 0226.



Advertising 0270: Advertising Copywriting I
3 credit hours (non-CLA)

Prerequisite: Adv 0050/JPRA C055, Adv 0055/JPRA 0226, Adv 0065, and Adv 0070/JPRA 0229

Writing effective advertising messages for newspapers, magazines, the trade press, industrial publications, radio, television, the mail order industry, and billboards. Print and broadcast advertising. Analysis and improvement of current advertisements. Note, this was formerly JPRA 0270.



Advertising 4102 (formerly 0390): Advertising Campaigns
3 credit hours (non-CLA)

Prerequisite: Completion of 200-level courses

Preparation and production of advertising campaigns on a variety of subjects, including commercial products and public services institutions. Media planning, copy and layout, production of radio and TV commercials, and public relations campaigns as applied to the advertising campaign. Note, this was formerly JPRA 0374.
