Completing TUJ Bridge Program

Effective as of Fall 2008 (Last update: September 2010)

Students Must Pass Both Bridge Program Courses

To complete the Bridge Program and become a "matriculated" undergraduate student at Temple University, all Bridge students must pass both Bridge English 0711 course and the Bridge Gen Ed course with a minimum grade of "C" or higher. Becoming a "matriculated" student means that the student has met the Undergraduate admission requirements and can now enroll at TUJ as a degree-seeking student upon paying the required matriculation fee.

Students Who Do Not Pass Bridge English 0711

  • A minimum grade of "C" is required to pass the Bridge English 0711 course. If a student receives a grade of "C-" or below, he or she is required to take Bridge English 0711 again during the following semester. A Bridge Program student repeating the English 0711 course may not take any non-Bridge courses until this course is passed with a minimum grade of "C."
  • If a student fails to obtain a "C" or higher for the second time, he or she will become a subject to dismissal from the University.

Students Who Pass Bridge English 0711 but Do Not Pass the Bridge Core Course

  • A minimum grade of "C" is required to pass the Bridge Gen Ed course. If a student receives a grade of "C-" or below, he or she is required to take the Bridge Gen Ed course again during the following semester. Students to take another Bridge Gen Ed course may not take any non-Bridge courses until they have passed a Bridge Gen Ed course with a minimum grade of "C."
  • If a student fails to obtain a "C" or higher when taking a Bridge Gen Ed course for the second time, he or she will be subject to dismissal from the University.

Notes

  • Students who do not pass both Bridge courses with a minimum grade of "C" during their first semester in the Bridge Program, but who subsequently obtain the minimum "C" grade in both course the following semester, may matriculate into at Temple University only once they obtain a cumulative GPA of 2.00. All students are required to matriculate before they complete 30 credits.
  • After successful completion of the Bridge Program, students are to attend academic advising and registration session conducted by the Academic Advising Center. Attendance is mandatory. The Academic Advising Center announces the expected advising schedule to the students at the beginning of respective semesters while attending Bridge Program.
