About the Academic Advising Center (Mission Statement)
The Academic Advising Center (AAC) provides academic support to TUJ's undergraduate students to better achieve their academic goals. AAC will assist in developing a comprehensive educational plan in compliance with University policies. The main responsibilities of the AAC are:
- Working with students in selecting appropriate courses, major, or other academic programs based on students' goal and interests
- Providing accurate information about the University's curriculum, requirements, and policies
- Assisting students in registration activities
- Graduation review and clearance
- Transfer credit reevaluation - after initial review is completed by Admissions
- Academic progress monitoring
- Intra-University Transfer (IUT)
- Major/minor/certificate declaration
- Referral of students to other support/service units
- Participating in the University's new student orientation activities
- Academic liaison with Temple Main Campus
- Supporting students with disabilities in collaboration with Disability Resources and Services on Main Campus
- Other applications and petitions
AAC also supports TUJ's faculty and other administrative departments as a resource related to academic policies and regulations. AAC also assesses TUJ students' needs in academic areas and makes recommendations to the institution, when necessary, in order to contribute its effort in enrichment of educational environment.
