Areas of Expertise

Film theory, history, and production. Japanese, European and U.S. cinema, Mass communication, PR and advertising, Japanese culture and language.

His first film as director, "The Turns of the Wheel" (97), won him several awards in the U.S. and Germany. Not only creating his own projects, he has worked as Line Producer for industrial, drama, and documentary films. Among his credits are works of distinctive directors like Doris Doerrie, Peter Spirer, Edgar Honetschlaeger, Ronan Girre, Takuya Fukushima, Peter Friedman, and Roger Manley. Teaching Interests

Has held guest lectures and workshops in Japan since 1995 at Kyoritsu Women's University, Aoyama Women's University, Daito Culture University, Women's Art University, Kyoto University of Design, Tokyo Travel College, etc. Also worked for the German education program of Japanese National Television NHK (1998-2004).


Research

Comparative studies on Japanese and American movie heroes, B-movies, film marketing.
