Counseling is a conversational process where a trained counselor assists you to explore and express your concerns and feelings, gain deeper self understanding, and work towards healthy changes. Counselors not only listen, but ask questions, clarify the statements you made, and offer feedback. They will not try to ’fix’ your problems or make you do anything, but rather help you make your own decisions.

At times, we may feel stressed out, anxious, depressed, angry, or confused. Sometimes these feelings will gradually go away on their own, or get better with the support of our friends and family. However, there are other times when those feelings can be overwhelming and cause disruption in our lives, and/or it is too difficult to talk to our friends and family. It is at these times when one should seek professional help.
