We are happy to invite you to join us in a conversation with Michael Schiffer of the Stanley Foundation, who will discuss the current state of play in the American presidential campaign and the implications of the 2008 elections for US-Japan relations. The Stanley Foundation is based in Iowa, which in January 2008 will host the first campaign caucuses in the Republican and Democratic presidential nominating process. Having worked on Capitol Hill, and taken part in several election campaigns, Michael, who also lived in Tokyo in 2004-05, will be able to provide us with a unique expertise on American politics and Asian affairs.
