Indian Justice Radhabinod Pal (1886-1967) was the sole judge, on the International Military Tribunal for the Far East, who acquitted all the defendants from committing war crimes in his historic, dissenting judgment. Professor Pinto1s lecture will address the timely question raised by Justice Pal: (Why) "when the conduct of nations is taken into account, the law will perhaps be found to be that only a lost war is a crime"?
