About M.S. Swaminathan

Prof. M.S. Swaminathan is a scientist and a humanist, internationally known as the Father of the Green Revolution in Asia. TIME magazine lauded him as one of the 20 most influential Asians of the 20th Century, along with Gandhi, Emperor Hirohito and Mao Tse Dong. He is the recipient of 48 honorary doctorates, the Ramon Magsaysay Award, World Food Prize, Albert Einstein World Science Award, and many other honors.

Dr. Swaminathan is currently the UNESCO professor of Eco-technology, Chairman of the MS Swaminathan Research Foundation, and the President of the Pugwash Conference of Science and World Affairs, a Nobel laureate organization.
