Temple University, Japan Campus
May 28th, 2002 - Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) in Minato-ku, Tokyo,
is celebrating its 20th year in Japan since the foundation of its
Tokyo campus in 1982.
TUJ, the Japan campus of Temple University in Pennsylvania, U.S.A.,
is the oldest and largest foreign university in Japan. TUJ follows
the same curriculum as the main campus and all the lectures are conducted
in English. Its students earn the same degrees and diplomas as students
at Temple's U.S. campus. Since its establishment, TUJ has been providing
a variety of educational programs: currently, an undergraduate program;
graduate programs in law and education (TESOL--Teaching English to
Speakers of Other Languages); an executive MBA; an intensive English
language program; a continuing education program; and a corporate
education program. Well over 24,000 students have studied in these
programs and more than 4,000 TUJ students have graduated from the
Japan or US campuses.
Commemorating this anniversary, TUJ is planning to introduce new
majors in the undergraduate program. Also various events are planned
beginning from June 2002 including an Essay & Photo Contest for
high school students, symposia, special lectures by experts in TESOL
and other fields, and many events.
