The online book catalogue also known as Dynix is the catalogue that contains all the books available in the TUJ library. There are several ways you can locate books in the library using this online catalogue. You can search by author, title, or subject. Please talk to our staff if you need help finding books on the shelves.

Currently enrolled students can borrow up to 10 books from the general collection for a period of three weeks. You may renew a book for one more week at a time if no one else has requested it. To renew a book, either bring it to the library or contact us on or before the due date.
Note: Books must be returned to the library on or before the due date. If you return a book after its due date, you will be fined at least ¥50 per item/day late.

Yes, the library is now circulating video tapes and DVDs.
How does it work?- Reserve videos cannot be checked out. You may view them in the library.
- Most videos can be checked out for seven days to TUJ students, faculty and staff.
- Students, faculty, staff, and Minato-ku guest patrons can borrow up to three videos at a time.
Please note that we will enforce overdue fines very strictly for all our patrons including faculty and staff. The usual fee applies (¥50 per item/day late.)
If extraordinary circumstances prevent you from returning a video on the due date, please contact us to arrange a new due date. Faculty should arrange extended dates at the time of checkout. In all other cases overdue fines will be charged. Thank you for your understanding.

-
Please note the due date stamped in the back page of books you check out. Books returned after the due date are subjected each to a ¥50 fine per day late. You may contact us or bring books to the library to extend the due date.

A list of reserve materials is kept in two binders at the library main desk. Reserves are held in the area behind the desk. Please ask our staff for help. If you have any questions about reserve materials, please contact us.
Note to Faculty:
As a general request, we ask that instructors bring their reserve materials to the library in advance. Processing usually requires one or two days.
We also ask that instructors drop copies of course syllabi off in the library. These are very helpful for students to identify reserves and to help clarify research projects. Please take a moment to drop a copy at the library main desk or in Tom Boardman's mail box. Thank you for your cooperation.

Towards the end of the semester when everybody is busy doing research, you may often find that a book you want is checked out. This means that somebody has borrowed it and should return it on or before the due date. In this case, you can ask our staff to place a hold on the title. Putting a hold on an item is effective in two ways:
- it will prevent the current user from renewing the item, and
- it will allow our staff to contact you as soon as the item is returned to the library.

The library requires a valid TUJ ID card (with current semester sticker) to provide you with full service. To get your ID card validated, contact our accounting staff in the business office. For those of you who come in for evening classes, please get it validated during business hours or make arrangements with your department.

Upon presenting a valid alumni card, TUJ alumni can borrow up to three items (books, video tapes, etc.) at one time.
For more information, please consult the Alumni Benefits section on our website.

To donate materials, please bring them to the circulation desk and talk to Miwa Sakai. Our policy on donated items is extremely simple. We always welcome donations of books and magazines, but please remember not all donated materials are added to the collection. We reserve the right to dispose of them as we see fit. Though we will provide a memo detailing the nature of the gift for tax purposes, we will not assign a monetary value to your donations.
