Campus around the World

Tokyo Campus

Law courses are conducted at Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ), a branch of Temple University founded in 1982. It is the oldest and largest American university in Japan with about 3,300 learners, including the participants in the Corporate Education programs. Also, it stands as the first foreign university recognized by the Japanese government. TUJ is located in the prestigious Minami Azabu/Mita section of Tokyo. The campus is accessible by public transportation from every part of the Tokyo metropolitan area.

TUJ occupies several floors of two modern office buildings. The non-smoking campuses include classrooms, offices, computer labs, study rooms as well as a library, learning center, counseling office, bookstore, audio/video center, and student lounge.

With over 50,000 books, 40,000 journal subscriptions and access to thousands of online book and journal titles, the TUJ library offers a unique research resource in Tokyo. The law book collection supports the law course offerings. When needed, the library staff can access the holdings of the main campus law library. The TUJ library general collection provides students with a full range of materials related to law, language, history, psychology, art, religion and business.

TUJ has several "smart classrooms" equipped with laptop plug-ins and wireless Internet connections. There are five computer labs on campus using traditional PCs and Macintosh computers. To ensure that students are always exposed to the latest technology, TUJ students receive e-mail addresses and access to online systems at main campus. As a Temple student, you will be connected to your academic information through OwlNet. Also, Temple has implemented a Blackboard system that allows you to access course materials online.

Rome Campus

Students may participate in our summer program in Rome as part of their LL.M. studies. Spend the morning in an intellectually stimulating class and the afternoon studying at a sidewalk cafe, wandering through hidden piazzas, or exploring the secrets of Rome. Classes are held at Temple Rome in the Villa Caproni, a 19th century villa on the Tiber River in a charming neighborhood near the heart of Rome. Each class is taught by full-time law professors, prominent Italian lawyers, judges, or legal scholars. Students may earn up to 6 credit hours over the 5 weeks of the program.
