Temple Law School and RBA to Provide MCLE Credit for U.S.-Qualified Attorneys - Lecture event: "Islamic Finance: An Overview and Anatomy of a Deal"
Temple University School of Law, Tokyo Campus is pleased to offer one MCLE credit to U.S. qualified attorneys who attend the Roppongi Bar Association (RBA) lecture event, "Islamic Finance: An Overview and Anatomy of a Deal " with guest speakers Naoyuki Kabata, Partner, Anderson Mori & Tomotsune and Brandon Boyle, Vice President, Foreya Partners.

Speakers
Naoyuki Kabata has been involved with an extensive range of financial transactions at Anderson Mori & Tomotsune, including securitization, funds, project finance, PFI (private finance initiative) and LBO (leveraged buy-outs). Mr. Kabata has also assisted both domestic and international clients in general corporate matters, such as corporate acquisition and runaround, licensing transactions, and intellectual property.
Brandon Boyle is a Japan based US attorney with more than ten years of experience working at the intersection of US-Japan business, including time at Ernst & Young, Panasonic, and the Japan External Trade Organization. Brandon is a frequent speaker on Japan-related tax topics and he has been published in areas as diverse as Islamic finance and taxation of e-commerce.
About the Event
Naoyuki Kabata will discuss his experience working on the first Islamic-compliant transaction in Japan as well as some of the difficulties and opportunities that he sees moving forward. Additionally, Brandon Boyle will provide an overview of the fundamentals of Islamic Finance, including the key principles and some basic structures being used to conduct Islamic transactions.
