Temple Law School and RBA to Provide MCLE Credit for US-Qualified Attorneys

Temple University School of Law, Tokyo Campus is pleased to offer one MCLE credit to U.S. qualified attorneys who attend the Roppongi Bar Association (RBA) meeting, "Consumer Finance Reform" with guest speakers Mr. Tom Clark, VP, Government Relations of GE Consumer Finance Asia, and Mr. Ernie Olsen, CEO of NCC Mortgage K.K.

As has been much in the news of late, the proposed revisions to the consumer finance laws of Japan are intended to put an end to the long-standing confusion over how much interest lenders can legally charge. The proposals are controversial, and have resulted in a storm of protest from the finance industry while being supported by certain consumer advocates. Messrs. Clark and Olsen are co-chairs of the ACCJ Banking and Finance Committee, and will discuss related issues which are sure to have a broad impact on financial and legal practitioners in the coming year.
