Obtain an LL.M. by completing 75% of your studies in Tokyo

For the last decade, LL.M. students at Temple University School of Law could complete half (12 credits) of their Masters of Law degree in Tokyo. The remaining credits had to be acquired by spending one full semester (5 months) at Temple's main campus in Philadelphia. Work, family, and other commitments often made it difficult for students to leave Japan for a long period of time.

In April 2005, Temple Law School made it easier for students residing in Japan to complete their LL.M. degree -- LL.M. students can now complete 18 credits of their 24 credits at our Tokyo campus. The remaining 6 credits may be completed during one single summer session in Philadelphia (7 weeks) or Rome (5 weeks). This monumental change allows our law students to avoid spending many months overseas to obtain a masters degree.
