"The Adversary Procedure Model in a Civil Law Society - Japan's Movement Back to German Roots"
The RBA will welcome Professor Carl F. Goodman. Please join us as he discusses the tension in Japan's civil procedure system between the American Occupation influenced adversarial model and the Germanic model upon which the civil procedure system was originally based.
Despite revisions within the last decade which have added adversarial aspects to Japan's Americanized Code of Civil Procedure, Japan has in recent years moved toward a more German oriented model.
Mr. Carl Goodman, Esq., is teaching at Temple University School of Law during spring semester 2005. He also teaches on a part-time basis at Georgetown Law Center and George Washington School of Law in Washington D.C.
