Q1.
Where can I take courses?

Students in either of the LL.M. programs may take courses in Japan or Philadelphia. It is also possible to participate in our summer law program in Rome.

Students in the Transnational LL.M. Program may complete their entire degree in Japan if they obtained a first degree in law outside of Japan.

Students in the General LL.M. Program (a.k.a. LL.M. for International Lawyers) may complete their entire degree in Philadelphia, or up to 18 credits at our Tokyo campus. For students wishing to take 18 credits in Tokyo, they need to:

  1. complete at least 6 credits at our main campus in Philadelphia or in Rome; and
  2. take at least 12 credits from full-time faculty at any campus (including visiting full-time faculty members)

The six credit overseas requirement may be completed in the summer semester - which is 7 weeks in Philadelphia or 5 weeks in Rome.
