Certificate in Legal Assistant Studies
Whether you are already a legal assistant or paralegal or seeking employment as one, this certificate program will train you to effectively perform the duties those positions require in an international setting. The coursework covers basic legal terminology, specific substantive areas of law, effective research techniques, client interview and investigation methods, legal writing, document preparation and filing, and information management. In addition, there are classes in business law, legal translation, and legal issues related to HR management.

Special Note on Electives:
Electives not listed under requirements for a particular certificate may still be applicable toward a certificate, subject to consultation with the office. A combination of two or three workshops totaling at least 18 hours or 1.8 CEUs plus a special assignment (equivalent to 0.2 CEUs) may also be counted as one elective.
