Admission

You may apply online, by downloading the application form, or by requesting a paper copy. You may apply for admission three times a year, Fall (starting late August), Spring (starting January), and Summer (starting May).


Admission Qualifications

You must meet one of the following requirements:

  1. You graduated or will graduate from an accredited secondary school (high school) or;
  2. You possess a GED (General Education Development), Kosotsu Nintei (formerly Daiken), or its equivalent.

Application Deadlines

We will mail you the admission results within 7 days of our receiving your application. Students can apply for admission to AEP one year in advance. Students are encouraged to apply as early as possible to secure their enrollment for a future semester.

Application Requirements

Please submit the following documents to complete your admission application. All supporting documents must be in English. TUJ will only accept notarized, translated documents. Documents sent to TUJ will not be returned.

  1. Admission Application Form
    Please submit the online application form.
  2. Non-refundable Admission Application Fee of ¥42,000
    Please make a wire transfer to the TUJ bank account and attach a copy of the receipt to your application.

    • Wire transfers should be made in the name of the applicant.
    • All bank charges should be paid by the applicant.
    • TUJ does not accept personal checks, cash, or credit card payments.
  3. Official English Transcripts
    An official English transcript from all accredited high schools and universities and/or colleges where the applicant was enrolled. Transcripts in languages other than English must be translated and notarized (by school, if possible).

    Notes:
    • An official transcript is an authorized certification of your academic credentials. It may be sent to TUJ directly by the institution or by the applicant as long as it is in the original, sealed envelope as issued by the institution.
    • If you are a current high school student, you can apply with your interim high school transcript, with the last term of the last year missing. Upon graduation, you are required to submit your final high school transcript.
  4. A Certificate of Graduation or a Copy of Your High School Diploma
    A certificate of graduation or a copy of your high school diploma in English. If you apply prior to your high school graduation, please submit a letter of anticipated graduation in English. Documents in languages other than English must be translated and notarized (by school, if possible).

    Notes:
    • A certificate of graduation or a letter of anticipated graduation may be sent to TUJ directly by the institution or by the applicant if it is in the original, sealed envelope as issued by the institution.
    • If you apply prior to your high school graduation, a certificate of graduation or a copy of the high school diploma is required upon graduation.

Tuition and Fees

Entrance Fee

Entrance Fee ¥215,000*

(including 5% consumption tax)

*If you get admitted to the TUJ Undergraduate program after finishing AEP, the entrance fee for the Undegraduate admission will be 200,000 yen. (Entrance fee for the Undergraduate admission is 415,000 yen if you apply directly.)

Institutional TOEFL (ITP)

TUJ conducts institutional TOEFL (ITP) exams every month. Scores are valid only in an application to TUJ.
