Alumni Relations - ICAS event in New York a Success

On 5 August, 2010, TUJ Alumni Relations held a successful joint event with the ICAS Department of our New York-Japan initiative. The guest speaker Mr. Jun Kurihara, non-resident Research Director at the Canon Institute for Global Studies in Tokyo and Senior Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School of Government, led the discussion on how to revitalize Japan in light of the transformation of the global political economy. TUJ will continue to organize such discussions and future alumni events periodically. With the initial response from our alumni in NY, TUJ has noticed the high interest of overseas alumni to connect with TUJ.

TUJ hosts Japan's First IB Category 3 Topical Seminar

From August 9 to 11, TUJ hosted an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB-DP) Category 3 seminar, the first of the kind to have been offered in Japan. The seminar was catered for Japanese native or near-native IB-certified teachers, aiming to provide highly specialized training in teaching Japanese literature. TUJ expects to expand its IB Professional Development seminar offerings in the future. The provision of professional training for educators such as this seminar is another milestone that demonstrates TUJ's ongoing commitment to the development and promotion of international education in Japan.
