Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) held its 30th anniversary symposium entitled "Liberal Arts: Developing Competency, Leadership and Global Citizenship" on Friday November 16 at the U Thant International Conference Hall of the United Nations University. The event was attended by approximately 300 people from a broad spectrum of Japanese society including education, business, the media and the general public.
TUJ hosts second professional training program on Green Economy for the National Development Planning Agency of Indonesia (BAPPENAS)

Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ), will conduct its second annual 2-week training program on Green Economy from October 9-19 for government officials and university faculty selected by the National Development Planning Agency of Indonesia (BAPPENAS). Twenty-five participants from Indonesia will attend the tailor-made non-degree program entitled "Training of Trainers on Green Economy". The course is particularly relevant in view of this year's Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development with its main theme on green economy in the context of sustainable development and capacity development for institutional growth.

Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) has donated 23 personal computers and 29 monitors to two philanthropic organizations. The donations were made in the name of the TUJ Student Government, as TUJ students took an active role in the project - wiping out the hard discs, reinstalling operating systems, and packaging the equipment.

Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ), held its 2012 commencement ceremony on Sunday, June 3 at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel, Tokyo. The event recognized the achievements of 227 graduates in the class of 2012, encompassing undergraduate, Master's and Doctoral degree programs.

Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) announced that three new members have been appointed to the TUJ Board of Overseers by the Temple University Board of Trustees. The TUJ Board of Overseers, established and authorized by the President and the Temple University Board of Trustees' Committee on Trustee Affairs in February 2011, serves an advisory function to provide TUJ with informed support on both academic and administrative matters from experts outside TUJ.

Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) and Sophia University will jointly hold an English-only career fair on Wednesday, June 6 at Sophia University. A university career fair held entirely in English, including Q&A sessions, is quite rare in Japan. Since it enables international students who are not confident in their Japanese skills to attend, the event will present new opportunities for both companies and students to meet and learn about each other.

Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) and Musashi University have agreed to introduce a credit exchange program from this coming fall. Based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in 2009, the credit exchange program will provide students at both institutions enhanced educational opportunities as well as facilitating academic collaborations and exchanges.

Temple University (Pennsylvania, USA) has signed an affiliation agreement with a prestigious Korean university, Sejong University (世宗大学校), to establish the Sejong-Temple Undergraduate Program. Students who enroll in this program will spend the first year at Sejong and the remaining three years at either Temple's Main Campus or Japan Campus. Upon successful completion of the program, students will earn a Temple University bachelor's degree.
TUJ has been designated as "Recommended Japanese University" by the Ministry of Higher Education in Saudi Arabia

Temple University, Japan Campus has received a notice from the Ministry of Higher Education in Saudi Arabia and the Cultural Office of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia that it has been designated as one of the Recommended Japanese Universities based on the criteria set forth to determine recommended study abroad destination campuses for Saudi nationals.
