Application Materials
Your application must include the items listed below. All required materials should be received by TUJ on or before the designated application deadline. The admission committee will not review incomplete applications.
- Complete Application Form (including a personal statement (essay))
Applicants must apply online.
Please do not leave any response blank. If a question does not apply to you, please answer N/A (Not Applicable).
The personal statement must be written without the assistance of any other person.
- Resume
Attach a current resume or curriculum vitae covering:- Dates of employment (month/year)
- Employer name
- Job title
- Job responsibilities
- Post-secondary educational history
- GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) Score Report
A GMAT score is required of all applicants unless they hold a Ph.D., JD, MD, or any other doctoral degree. The GMAT may also be waived based on level of work experience and undergraduate GPA. The test score is valid if it was received within the last five years. The latest possible test date is approximately one week prior to each application deadline. The test date of your GMAT must be indicated in the application form.

GRE does not substitute for the GMAT. - TOEFL Score Report
An official TOEFL score is required of all non-native speakers of English unless they have completed a college or graduate program whose medium of instruction is English in one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, the UK, or the USA. A minimum score of 575 is required (575=230 on a computer-based test and 89 on an internet-based test). The test score is valid if it was received within the last two years. The last possible test date is approximately one month prior to each application deadline. The test date of your TOEFL must be indicated in the application form. The IELTS (academic test only) is also accepted.

TOEIC, institutional TOEFL, or any other English-language ability test is not acceptable.
- Two Certified Transcripts
Please request official English transcripts or grade sheets from all colleges and universities you have attended. The transcripts should include all course names and grades. Only transcripts that bear the seal, mark, or signature of an authorized official of the university where you earned your degree or have taken courses are acceptable. Once sealed, the envelopes must not be opened.
If your transcript is not in English, you must submit both the official transcript written in its original language and an English translation made by a professional translator. The translation must be in the same envelope and must be signed by the translator.

- Two or More Letters of Recommendations
You should get recommendations from those who are best able to assess your potential for graduate study and employment in business and management. At least one recommendation should come from an employer or supervisor. If obtaining a recommendation from your supervisor is not possible, please consider obtaining a recommendation from another individual who is familiar with your performance in the workplace or please contact the program office. Please fill in the top portion of the recommendation form and forward it to the person writing the recommendation. Ask him/her to complete the form, seal it in an envelope, and sign the envelope across the seal. The letters may be submitted by the recommenders directly to TUJ.
- Interviews
An interview is required of all applicants. Once your application is complete, the program office will contact you to set up the interview. Telephone interviews are available for those living far from Tokyo.
