Dr. Duignan, after moderating 12 lectures on different topics in this series, will take this opportunity to focus on many perceived problems we have covered and give his views whether certain issues are being exaggerated and on which issues should be highlighted more. Some topics to be covered include patients turned away by multiple hospitals, “cancer refugees”, long waiting times, short “assembly line” doctor consultations and over-medication. He will discuss the debate surrounding issues like the shortage of doctors, uneven quality of treatment and fiscal/demographic pressures. He will also share his research on areas such as mental health, suicide prevention as well as latest developments from the pharmaceutical industry.
