Consumerization of IT, such as the provision cloud-based services, are significantly affecting clinical operations of Japanese hospitals and health IT. However from both legal and tech viewpoints, consumers and clinical professionals are not aware of risks regarding privacy and security on the cloud. Instead of summarizing traditional health IT, this lecture will show real cases about "New Normal" health IT.

Speaker Profile

Dr. Ikuo Takahashi is one of Japan's leading experts in the field of Cloud Computing, Information Security and e-Commerce. He is a lawyer, a lecture at Utsunomiya University and a business entrepreneur and Owner of KK IT Research Art.

Dr. Eiji Sasahara is Vice-Chair of Healthcare IT Subcommittee at the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ), and have experience in clinical research regarding team-based care for outpatient chemotherapy utilizing health IT, jointly with the St. Luke's International Hospital, Tokyo. He holds a BA from Keio University, an MBA from Boston University and a Ph.D. in Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences from Chiba University Graduate School of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Moderator Profile

Dr. Rene Duignan works for the Central Bank of Italy and is a lecturer at Aoyama Gakuin University. As Chair of the JIC Study Group, he hosts a variety of public lectures. Dr. Duignan is the co-founder and curator of the Healthy-Healthcare lecture series. He is an Adjunct Research Fellow at ICAS Temple University Japan and serves as an elected Board Member of the Ireland Japan Chamber of Commerce (IJCC). He is an occasional TV commentator on Japanese economic and political affairs and a Tokyo resident since 1997.
