Language Programs
Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ), offers various language programs. The Academic English Program is an intensive English-language course primarily designed for high school graduates preparing to enter English-medium undergraduate programs. Our Continuing Education program offers various levels of English-, Japanese-, and Chinese-language courses designed primarily for working individuals.
A Doorway to the Undergraduate Program
TUJ immerses students in an English-speaking environment. Students hear, speak, read and write in English as they deal with academic topics. TUJ's Academic English Program will give students access to all the advanced English and academic skills needed to succeed in their undergraduate studies.
Developing Academic and Study Skills in English
TUJ's Academic English Program will give students a solid command of academic English, study skills, and critical thinking—everything needed for undergraduate success—and helps them achieve a TOEFL score high enough to enter most colleges in English-speaking countries.
English-Language Program for Everyone
TUJ's Continuing Education program offers six levels of general English-language courses for people who want to strengthen their English skills. Courses are held on evenings and weekends to accommodate the schedules of working individuals.
Japanese- and Chinese-Language Programs
TUJ's Continuing Education program offers various levels of Japanese- and Chinese-language courses taught in English. There is also an intensive Japanese-language program, both in the morning and evening, that provides the student with the most essential skills required to learn and use Japanese in a short period of time.
