This course will examine the basic contours of Intellectual Property law as it is practiced in the United States. Students will explore the structure of copyright, patent, and trademark law. We will emphasize the impact that IP contracts upon the business community and gain an understanding of the IP licensing process. The course will also briefly address ancillary IP issues, such as trade secret, trade dress, and rights to publicity.
