Copy Editing Skills (CES101)
Behind every great writer is a great copy editor, whose job is to check and correct manuscripts for grammar, punctuation and style. Few offices have a cadre of copy editors, though, which makes the employee who can copy-edit reports, charts, memos and email messages "on the fly" invaluable to the workplace. This beginning course will teach you the basics of copy editing and introduce the tools of the trade, including style manuals and reference materials. Then, the next time your boss holds up a draft report and calls out, "Somebody check this, please," you won't be afraid to raise your hand!
