Introduction to Mandarin Business Chinese (CSL301)

- CSL 101 or student with appropriate level. Both basic Chinese characters and basic Pinyin (Romanization for pronunciation of Chinese character) reading skills are required.

Due to the rapid economic growth, more and more people are visiting China to work and live. In order to make business successful in China, basic practical Chinese skills are essential. This course introduces not only some useful daily and business conversational expressions used in situations such as business trips to China and business meetings with Chinese people but also adequate awareness of socio-cultural customs and concepts in Chinese speaking areas. In this class, students will be given chances to do some peer or group work in order to practice their Chinese pronunciation and improve their listening skills.
The course uses different materials and works on different topics every semester and thus is repeatable.
