Course Details

Images are a unique and complex form of communication which not only convey information but silently affect our lives. The Image Making course highlights strategies for creating unique visual forms and is for anyone curious about making and discussing images. We will plunge into the diverse world of images, each week focusing on different facets of image making, we will explore the mosaic of messages, how we respond to them and how they are created. By analyzing examples from fine art to every-day images and producing our own original work we will use manual and digital processes including drawing, collage, manipulating found imagery, photography and pattern making.

Special Note:

This course is suitable for anyone interested in image making. You will need some simple image making tools such as paper, drawing implements, glue and scissors. We will use computers during some classes, but you needn't worry about your ability, it will be useful to have a camera (a smartphone will do) and a usb flash drive or online storage account.
