Course Details

Nations trade. Trade creates wealth. Trade is complex.

In this course students will gain an understanding of international trade theory, economics, trading blocs and free trade agreements, global political and legal issues affecting trade, foreign exchange mechanisms and entrepreneurial market entry strategies. Culture affects trade, so an examination of the importance of cultural, social and governmental issues affecting trade is provided. Tools for market entry, assessing and managing risk, and an introduction of the CAGE framework are featured. Class lectures will complement real-life case discussions on practical issues affecting international trade. Assignments are based on current real-life situations in international trade.
