Internship Programs
The internship program is one of the distinctive features of TUJ education. TUJ values the combination of class work and internship. Students find it useful to not only gain valuable work experience, but also to build their future career plan. In fact, many students choose to find the same kind of job as they undertake during their internship. Some students even work for the same organization as a full-time employee after graduation.
Purpose
An internship is a valuable way to gain practical work experience, often in a student's field of interest, while earning academic credits. While many internship programs require students to be fluent in both English and Japanese, some programs are more accommodating when it comes to language skills. Since an internship is treated as an academic course, you will need to register with the Academic Advising Center. Students usually work from 10 to 20 hours per week onsite under managerial supervision.
Internship Responsibilities and Procedures
Check the responsibilities and procedures for applying to and receiving credit for internships.
Evaluation
A faculty supervisor oversees the internship, setting the evaluation requirements for the internship and meeting with the student several times during the semester. A final report by the student describing the internship experience must be submitted at the end of the semester.
Available Internships
The TUJ Career Development Office helps students find internships at Japanese and foreign companies in Japan. All available internships are posted on the Blackboard
. If you have any questions about the internships listed on the Blackboard
