Important Notice about the Swine (H1N1) Influenza for Students, Faculty, and Staff
May 18, 2009
The first domestic case of swine influenza (H1N1) was confirmed in Kobe city on May 16, and the Japanese government has raised its Action Plan from Phase 1 to Phase 2.
TUJ will continue to operate as normal although there is some possibility that operations may be temporarily disrupted. To date, no TUJ students are known to have contracted the H1N1 virus, but there is some possibility that TUJ may either temporarily cancel certain classes or close the entire institution for approximately one week. These emergency measures will be announced on this website and by e-mail, so please monitor carefully all communications from the university.
Meanwhile, students who traveled outside of Japan and came back within seven days of their first Summer 09 class are requested to send the country name and period of the visit to the school administration. Undergraduate and AEP students should contact Office of Student Services, and students in graduate programs and Continuing Education Program should contact their respective program offices.
We ask all students, faculty and staff to continue to take extra precautions. If you develop fever or other flu-like symptoms, do not come to the university but contact the nearest regional Fever Advisory Center (Hatsunetsu Soudan Center) and follow their medical guidance. If you are diagnosed as possibly infected by the swine flu virus, please contact TUJ immediately. (0120-86-1026)
