Becoming a Better Citizen in the Community

April 2009

Maintaining a good relationship with the local community as represented by the Minato city government is essential to TUJ's continued success. Minato city has a high percentage of foreign residents and TUJ's support in internationalization of its Japanese residents and education of its foreign residents is mutually beneficial for the city and for TUJ in building an important reservoir of good will as well as creating a pool of potential students.

Under the agreement on joint activities concluded with the city in 2006, TUJ has been active in community projects such as hosting English lectures for the Minato-ku Citizen's University, dispatching TUJ students to elementary and junior high schools to assist foreign pupils, and making the library resources available to Minato citizens.
